The Ultimate Guide to Post Your Product on Product Hunt

So, you’re thinking about launching on Product Hunt? That’s Awesome! Launching on Product Hunt can be exciting, but with all the terms, it might feel exhausting too.

Let’s dive into how to post on Product Hunt without getting too overwhelmed.

The Basics: Hunters and Makers

First things first, let’s talk about two important roles on Product Hunt:

  1. Hunters: A hunter is a person who shares your product on Product Hunt. Ideally, you need to get a hunter who is well-known in the product hunt community and has already launched similar products in your niche. Having a well-known hunter launch your product,  can give your launch a bit of extra authority and bring more eyes to your product.

But remember, getting a well-known hunter is not mandatory to launch on a product hunt. You can choose to hunt your product on your own.

  2. Makers: That’s you and your team! The people behind the product. If you choose to hunt the product on your own, you will be both the maker and hunter of your product.  you can be both a hunter and a maker at the same time. So if you want to post your own product, go for it!

Remember, a product can have only one hunter but multiple makers.

Account Types: Personal vs. Business

Product Hunt has two types of accounts:

  • Personal account: An account that you create using your name & profile picture
  • Business account: An account which mentions your brand or business in its name

Here’s the catch: you need a personal account to post on Product Hunt. Business accounts can’t post, So make sure you use your personal details while you create a product hunt account.
